1 Samuel 23: 1-29; Saul Pursues David

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Yesterday we saw Saul's character and life as a whole summed up in one chapter. Today we see David's life, before he becomes kings, and his character summed up in one chapter. David is hunted by Saul, which causes him fear. He is commanded by God to go and rescue the city of Keilah, which also causes him fear. But despite David's fear he still trusts in the Lord. He knows that the Lord is going to watch over and protect him no matter what happens. His trust in the Lord is well founded, for as we see God does take care of David. God sees to it that no harm comes to David. The early life of David teaches us that we ought to trust God. Too many times we lose heart and think we have been abandoned. We have not been abandoned. God is with us. He will never leave us nor forsake us. Like David, we can trust in the Lord. God bless you,

Pastor Josh
