Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I wonder what would have happened to David had it not been for Jonathan. At the very least, he bought David some time. Jonathan interceded for David to make sure he was not killed. The relationship between David and Jonathan has always fascinated me, for the simple reason that Jonathan is Saul's son, and he ought to be killing David (as per his father's orders). Instead, Jonathan intercedes for David to make sure no harm comes to him. In this sense Jonathan reminds me a bit of Jesus. Jesus intercedes for us. He prays to God for us, he works for us, he does all he can to make sure we are forgiven of our sins and loved by God. While we should be being punished for sin, Jesus makes it so that we are loved and able to be in God's presence. Jesus intercedes for us, as Jonathan interceded for David, making sure no harm comes to us. God bless you,
Pastor Josh
