Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Joab is, if you will, the anti-David. David sometimes tries very hard to be gracious and merciful. In this case David would like to mourn for his son whom he has lost. Joab, however, wants David to forget about Absalom and honor his army. Joab continues to fill David with nonsense and sinful thoughts. We all have angels in our lives, but we also sometimes come across people who try to lead us away from the will of God. When we come across those people it is important for us to listen to God. God is always speaking to us, he is always telling us what he wants from us. Our part is to listen and not let our judgment be clouded by what others say. God bless you.
