2 Samuel 10: 1-19; David Defeats the Ammonites

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

I'm sure if Hanun would have listened to God rather than his 'advisers' everything would have turned out differently. What he should have done was listen to God who, I'm sure, was telling him David's men meant no harm. Hanun failed to quiet his own voice and listen for God. As a result, his people were subdued by David and Joab. One of the hardest things to do is quiet our minds and listen to God. After all, we are smart people. Look at all the things we have made, look at all we have accomplished. It is sometimes easy for us to think we don't have to listen to God. When we think that, though, bad things happen. We all need to be better about listening to God rather than to ourselves. God is loving and wise. We are in good hands with him. God bless you.
