Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
The key word in this passage is actually in the subtitle: restores. This man, who is demon-possessed, is not a part of normal society. Due to his ailment he has been ostracized by those around him out fear and anger against his sin. Jesus, in casting out the demon, restores the man to the community. The formerly demon-possessed man can now rejoin society and rebuild all of his relationships. Jesus does the same for us. Due to our sin our relationship with God had been broken. Jesus' ministry restored us to right relationship with God. Now we can know God, and God can know us. Now we can worship God. Now we can enter God's kingdom. Jesus has restored us to where we truly belong: to God's presence. God bless you.
