Mark 14: 33-42; Gethsemane

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

It was not Jesus' desire to be crucified. This is one of the most meaningful passages in the entire passage narrative because we see here that Jesus did not want to go to the cross. Jesus wanted his life to continue; he wanted his ministry to continue; he wanted his relationship with his disciples to continue. Jesus did not want to go to the cross. However, he did go to the cross, and he went there because he wanted us to be in heaven with him. Jesus wanted to live, but he wanted to live with us more. That is the beauty of the cross: that Jesus went there, even though he did not want to, to give us life. Jesus gave up his life, against his own desires, to make sure we received salvation. That is love. God bless you.
