Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus takes time to break bread with his disciples. Approaching his suffering and death Jesus takes a few moments with his disciples to give them a few last words of encouragement. Jesus could have been wrapped up in everything that is going to happen to him, ignoring his disciples and focusing on himself. Jesus does not do that. He knows this is going to be a tumultuous time for the disciples and so he spends this meal with them, in part, to prepare them for what is coming. That is the comfort of Jesus. He put his disciples before himself. He does that for us, too. Jesus does not focus on himself. He focuses on our needs, always. Whatever we may be going through Jesus is always there to help.
