Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
I think this command really goes beyond slavery in general. God reminds the Israelites here of what he did for them in Egypt. And in doing so I think God says to the Israelites, 'do to others as has been done to you.' God took great care of the Israelites when he brought them out of Egypt. He wants the Israelites to remember that blessing and show that same kindness and love to those around them. God has done so much for us in our lives. We have been blessed beyond measure. And we are supposed to remember those blessings and treat others the way God has treated us. God has blessed us and we are supposed to share those blessings with those around us. God bless you.
