Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
At the center of everything in the life of the Israelites is worship. First, they are commanded to destroy everything related to idol worship. Second, they are told to not worship in their (the non-Israelites) way. Third, they are told exactly how they are to worship God. As Israel is taking possession of the Promised Land; as they are growing in their power and might they are reminded that their biggest concern is to spend time in worship, and worship in the right way. In the midst of all that going on in their lives Israel is told to make sure they worship God. The lesson for us is that we, like Israel, have a lot going on in our lives. Despite that, though, we all need to make more time for worship. This proved crucial for Israel, and it is just as crucial for us. Making time for worship should be our number one priority.
