Have you ever noticed that the story of Jacob and Esau is very similar to the parable of the prodigal son? Jacob gets the inheritance and then runs away where he gets into some trouble, after which he decides to go home even though he is afraid of what will happen to him when he does. And just like the father in the parable of the prodigal son Esau hugs Jacob when he gets back. We may have times when we turn away from God, and if we ever do we have the promise, made known to us through Jacob and the prodigal son, that God will welcome us back with open arms. God bless you,
