Praise and prayer are really the backbones of our relationship with God. It's simply polite to say thank you when someone gives you something. And when good manners are used a relationship stays solid, because the one who does the kind thing feels appreciated and more inclined to do more kind things. So, when we praise God we are really saying 'thank you.' God will hear that, be appreciative and continue to bless us, most of all with his presence. In prayer we talk to God. We allow God to get to know us, and we get to know God, for God speaks back to us in prayer, if only we listen. If you seek to grow in your relationship with God practice prayer and praise daily.
