Jesus is the great High Priest. The job of the Jewish High Priest, in Jesus' time, was to intercede on behalf of the people. His job was to make a sacrifice and say prayers that would 'square' the Israelites with God. Jesus does that for us. He prays for us (see John 17), and, of course, he made a sacrifice on our behalf. Jesus is our Great High Priest. He sees to it that we are freed from sin; he sees to it that we are right with God. God bless you.
