Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Just like that the threat is gone. Why? Certainly not because of Ahab's great faith (we have seen earlier in 1 Kings the lack of faith he has); and certainly not because of Ahab's great army. No, the reason Ahab is able to defeat Ben-Hadad is because of God's grace and love. Without those thing Ahab would have been in a bad way for sure. The same is true of us. We sometimes come against seemingly insurmountable odds. When that happens God steps in to help us, and if we let him we will find victory. God's grace and love surpass any other power in the world.
