1 Kings 18: 16-46; Elijah on Mount Carmel

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

'Is that you, you troubler of Israel?' Ahab, in this passage, refuses to accept any responsibility for the trouble in which Israel finds itself. It is because of Ahab's sins, and the sins of his predecessors, that Israel is being punished by God. Their collective sins disrupted the relationship between God and Israel. Too often we fail to confess our sins. We have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It is essential that we remember this, and recognize that some of the suffering we endure we bring on ourselves. Ahab's sinned led to Israel's sufferings. Sometimes our sins lead to our suffering as well. We need to be aware of who we are and what we have done so we can have a proper relationship with God. God bless you.
