In the midst of all this 'gloom and doom' prophecy for Israel there is some hope: Babylon will fall. They are merely being used as a tool to teach the Israelites a lesson. The Babylonians, however, will not have the final victory. They will fall, for God, the Holy one of Israel is the one who will have the final victory. We can have that same hope. The Biblical Babylonians are not around anymore, but there are other forces of evil at work in the world. While they wage war against, and around us, we can have hope in knowing God will have victory over them. We can know God will have the final word. God bless you.
