Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
To Israel's credit they do not sell out to the Assyrians. The Northern Kingdom has already been bribed by the Assyrians, but the Southern Kingdom, the people of Judah, refuse to be bribed, they hold to their faith and trust in God. In this instance the people of Judah serve as a model for us. The world wants us to sell out, to give up our faith. We must not do it. We must continue to believe in God. God is the only one who can, and will, give us everything we need for our lives. The world has offered to buy us, and like Judah we should refuse. We should hold fast to our faith in God.
