Luke 2: 21-40; Jesus Presented in the Temple

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mary and Joseph presented Jesus to the Lord as an offering. They took this time to dedicate Jesus to the service of the Lord. We dedicate our children to the Lord, and it is right we do so. We are God's. Our children are God's. It is right that we should dedicate our children to God's service. We are taught in this world to cling fiercely to our independence. That is not how God intended it to be. God created us. We are his. As such we need to live our lives as though we belong to God. We dedicate our children to the Lord; we dedicate our lives to the Lord. Let us all remember to whom we belong and what we need to be doing. God bless you.
