Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
When something is broken we need to pay someone to come and fix it for us. When we want something to continue to work properly we sometimes need to invest our finances to make sure that can happen. If, for example, we want our houses to continue to hold up we need to invest money in them. The same is true of the church. We are a self-sufficient body, which means the money we have comes from us. If we want the church to continue to do its work we all need to give out of what God has given to us. If we want the church to keep healing, provide help, preach the good news, we all have to invest in the church. We need the gifts of God's children to continue to do the work God has given us.
