Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
"...or encroach on the fields of the fatherless." The fatherless, or orphans as they were also called in Biblical times, were one of the groups of people for whom the Israelites were supposed to care. They were 'set aside' if you will, as people needing special attention. This idea is highlighted in this proverb, and we can take from this that we are still called to care for those in need. There are people in need all around us. We need to see the need and make sure we are doing all we can to fill that need, including not taking (encroaching) what belongs to someone who may be in need.
