1 Kings 8: 1-21; The Ark Brought to the Temple

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Ark of the Covenant is just about the most important artifact for the Israelites, for in it was the stone tablets on which were written the Ten Commandments, Aaron's staff, and a jar of manna. In short, items that reminded Israel of God leading them out of Egypt and through the wilderness. The Ark was to be housed in the Temple, in the Holy of Holies to continually remind the Israelites of God's goodness in the past. We have a very similar item in our churches. Almost every single church in the world has a cross in it somewhere. The cross reminds us of what Jesus did to save us, what he endured to give us life. We need to be mindful of the crosses we have in our churches. We need to be ever mindful of what has been done to give us the salvation we need so much in our lives. When Israel looked at the Ark they remembered God's grace. When we look at the cross we remember Christ's sacrifice. Let us always remember what was endured for our sake. God bless you.
