2 Corinthians 6: 14- 7: 1; Do Not Be Yoked With Unbelievers

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are God's children. There is no better news than that. Through Jesus, especially his death on the cross, we have all been named as children of God. When we hear these words our hearts are filled with joy because we know what it means to be called children of God. There is a catch, though. Being God's children means we are called to live and act a certain way. We are called, as Paul says here, to 'perfect holiness out of reverence for God.' Jesus tells us, in the Sermon on the Mount, to 'be perfect, as God in heaven is perfect.' We do this that we might bring honor and glory to God. We practice holiness not to save ourselves, but to please God. This is why Paul tells us to prefect holiness, that we might, as God's children, bring honor and glory to God. God bless you.
