Judges 20: 1-48; Israelites Fight the Benjamites

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Advent is a season of peace. One of our candles on the Advent wreath is actually called the candle of peace. During these few weeks we ought to reflect on the peace Jesus wants us to have with one another. Jesus does not want us to fight amongst ourselves. Rather, Jesus wants us to love one another as he has loved us, he wants us to live together in peace. This is not easy, as many of us, directly or indirectly, have been harmed in some way, which does not create peace in our hearts. What we learn from that is that the path to peace lies in forgiveness. We need to forgive those who have wronged us. When we forgive them we are able to restore the relationship that has been broken. Through forgiveness we can find our way to peace. God bless you.
