Judges 19: 1-30; A Levite and His Concubine

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Have you noticed that the last couple chapter of Judah have begun with the phrase: 'In those days, Israel had no king.' And have you also noticed that in the last couple of chapters things have been happening in the lives of the Israelites that maybe are not according to God's will? I think there is a connection between the two. We may not get struck dead for living outside of God's will, but we just might have a different kind of life we would otherwise have: a life without peace and joy. For Israel, this is a tumultuous time because they were not looking to God, their true king. If we look to God, rely on him, and follow him, our lives will be blessed. It's that simple. God bless you.
