Matthew 12: 22-37; Jesus and Beelzebub

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined. I wonder what Jesus would think about the hundreds of denominations that exist today, especially in light of the petty things over which we, as Christians, sometimes disagree. Jesus says these words here to defeat the notion that he is somehow aligned with Beelzebub. However, I think they apply to us as well. I feel confident in saying God is none too pleased with the splits that exist in the church right now. We all need to work harder to work together. We are all called to the same ministry, to the same service, to worship the same God. A kingdom divided against itself will be ruined. We need to heed those words from our Lord. We need to begin to break down some of the walls that separate us. It begins with finding common ground. We all like Jesus. If we start there then maybe, just maybe, if we work hard, and truly love each other, enough, everything else will fall into place. God bless you.
