Hebrews 5: 1-10; Jesus the Great High Priest

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

The letter to the Hebrews gives us a pretty solid description of the function(s) of the High Priest. One of those functions was to pray for people. One of the tasks of the High Priest was to lift up the people, in prayer, into the presence of God. If you'll look through the gospels you will notice Jesus praying for his disciples/us a lot of the time. As the great High Priest Jesus prayed for us. But the catch is that he still prays for us. Jesus, after being resurrected, did not die again. He was lifted up still living. What this means for us is that Jesus is still praying for us. Since Jesus not die his ministry, his ministry of prayer, still continues. Jesus is still praying for you. God bless you,

Pastor Josh
