Hebrews 2: 5-18; The Founder of Salvation

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

Immediately after his baptism Jesus is thrown out into the wilderness by the Spirit where he is tempted for forty days. Hebrews 2: 18 reads, 'for because he himself suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.' Jesus, because he was tempted himself, is able to help us in our temptation. He knows what it means to be tempted, he knows what it is like to feel that pull; he also knows how to resist. Jesus was able to fight off the temptation in the wilderness. What this means for us is that we have a Savior who knows what it is like to suffer temptation. Jesus will be with us we are tempted, and he will give us the strength to resist temptation. God bless you,

Pastor Josh
