Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
What Paul is trying to say here is that God's promise(s) trump everything. If God promises salvation we are going to get salvation. Furthermore, we need to believe in the promises of God, and not in our supposed ability to make those promises come true. The Law was not put in place, says Paul, to give people the opportunity to save themselves; it was put in place to assist people in living righteous lives. It is faith that really matters. For Paul, nothing else will do. We must believe in Jesus and confess him as Lord and savior. There is nothing else we can do to receive salvation. Confess Jesus. God bless you.
