Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Solomon gets off to a bit of a rocky start. I think we can look at this passage and say that Solomon is perhaps being driven by fear: fear that his kingship will not last, that someone will try and take it from him. If Solomon had been a little more trusting in God maybe things would have been different in this passage. Maybe so many people would not have had to die. As we look at Solomon come into his kingship let us remember to trust God. He has promised us he will take care of us. God will not break that promise. Trust in him. God bless you.
