Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
One of the things I really enjoy about Paul is how thankful he is. As I read the beginning of this letter I am once again in awe of Paul's gratitude. This gratitude, though, is not for the big fancy blessings in life: the new tunic, the nice house, the comfortable sandals. No, this gratitude is for the simple blessing of having brothers and sisters in Christ. Paul is grateful that he has people with whom he can share his journey of faith, and with whom he can worship. I can almost see the excitement on Paul's face as he writes this letter. I can almost feel the joy leaking out of him onto the page. What is our level of gratitude. Is church just another place we go during the week because that is the nice thing to do? Are our brothers and sisters in Christ siblings that we have to love because their siblings, not because we truly love them? Or, like Paul, are our hearts filled to the brim with joy for the blessings of church and family?Do we always thank God for each other and the blessing of being here in God's house? God bless you.
