Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
We should always opt for peace first. Jehoash makes a small effort at peace before conflict, and for that he should be commended. He knew the downside of war; he had seen it for years. He also recognizes that God does not want us to automatically jump in with swinging swords. No, Jesus calls us to peace; Jesus calls us to love one another. God bless you.
