Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Abraham refers to the rich young man as 'son' and that word holds all of the meaning for us. By calling the man 'son' we are told that this man is part of the Abrahamic covenant. In other words, the rich young man was promised a place in heaven as being part of the people of Israel. The rich young man lost his place in heaven because he did not do what the Lord required of him. Food for thought: we are promised a place in God's kingdom, but we are also called to live a life worthy of that promise. If we are not faithful to our calling as God's children we could end up in the same position of the rich young man: on the outside looking in. God bless you.
