Judges 2: 1-5; The Angel of the Lord at Bokim

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Israelites know who they are supposed to be following. They know who it was who brought them out of the wilderness and into the Promised Land. They know the commandments they have been given by God. And yet they continue to disobey and do things God does not want them to do. And God asks them a very simple question. Why? Why to they persist in living this way when they know exactly what they are supposed to be doing. As with everything else we are supposed to see ourselves when we look at Israel. We know what God wants us to do, but we don't always do it. We know who blesses us and leads us through life, but we don't always follow Him. Why? God asks us that question. Why? We could all work a little harder at living the kind of life God wants us to live. God wants us to be holy, he wants us to serve him. We could all take a few more steps forward to being the kind of person God wants us to be. God bless you.
