Matthew 18: 21-35; The Parable of the Unmerciful Servant

Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.

The first servant, the one with the larger debt, has his debt cancelled. He is not given more time, or more money. Instead, he is granted forgiveness, his debt is completely wiped off the books. Even with the grace he has received he still cannot find it in his heart to forgive someone who is indebted to him. Are we going to act like this servant? Are we going to come to God and beg him for forgiveness but refuse to give it to those who sin against us? Or, are we going to follow Jesus example and forgive those who harm us. "Forgive them father, for they do not know what they are doing." Jesus utters those words from the cross, on behalf of those who put him on the cross. Jesus forgives those who have sinnned against him, the unmerciful servant does not. Which one are we going to be? God bless you.
