Grace and peace to you from our Lord Jesus Christ.
Paul sometimes goes back and forth between faith and works. Here, he places the emphasis on faith. We need to believe in the right way before we can work in the right way. Belief is a fundamental aspect of faith in that we need to believe in God as the one and only God and we need to believe in Jesus as God's one and only son. There are other aspects of faith to be sure, but I think these are good starting points. We need to act according to our faith, but we also need to have the right kind of faith to begin with.
